Since it has been so very long since I have done a post about anything other than my precious son, I thought it was time for a What’s Up Wednesday post! I fully intended to do this yesterday, but then life happened as we will get into.
WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK
Well first of all, I recently signed up for Hello Fresh after being intrigued by it and Blue Apron for a while now. Let me just be honest and say we were in a total rut as far as dinners went. We were eating out all the time! It is hard to find the time to go to the store and cook with a toddler and full time jobs! Anyways, a couple of coworkers highly recommended Hello Fresh and one was able to send me a $40 off coupon code. It has been great so far. Everything is already portioned out and ready to cook. The foods have made us branch out some too. There has been at least one element we liked from each meal. Let me know if you are interested in a coupon code too and I will definitely send you an invite! Here are a few of our Hello Fresh meals:
Last night was all about food, though! Chad and I went to Skyviews for a 7 course dinner with a “French Laundry” theme. The restaurant is run by restaurant and hotel management students at Tech, and the food was really top notch! Of course, 7 courses and 5 wine pairings later… we were stuffed! I definitely look forward to going back to try out some of their other themes.
WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT
That darn Timehop app and those Facebook memories notifications keep me reminiscing about my itty bitty wittle baby who seems to have become a little boy overnight! I mean he is still my baby, and always will be, but darn if I don’t miss those chubby cheeks!
WHAT I’M LOVING
College Football baby! I love working at Tech, but I especially love it this time of year when you can hear the band practicing and seeing the red and black streamers every where! We have even taken Ryder to all of the home games so far!
WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO
I’ll share more in Ryder’s 21 month post (yes you read that right, I can’t believe he’s that old either), but basically football and work! The busyness has not slowed down. We did have lots of fun at work last Friday for National Research Administrator Day, and we had fun at Painting With a Twist earlier in the week!
WHAT I’M DREADING
Not that we are planning on doing it anytime soon, but I am already dreading having to break Ryder of his thumb sucking and lovie habit. We have him in a new music class and the teacher suggested taking the lovie away before class…. well that ended in a total meltdown disaster. I was a thumb sucker too and eventually broke myself of that habit, but the lovie habit may be more difficult! He does look awfully adorable sucking his thumb and cuddling his blankets, though!
WHAT I’M WORKING ON
I am trying to get the house all decorated for Fall! I have several fake pumpkins that I decopauged a few years ago, and I still LOVE them! I am just afraid might Ryder want to play with the “balls”. I also can’t wait to get out all of my glitter pumpkins, a bunting banner for my fireplace, and everything orange and black! Bring on the cooler weather! I apologize that I cannot find any of those pictures right now, but I will be sure to share them when I have them.
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT
We have had a lot of changes going on at work lately, and while that is anxiety inducing for me, the changes have all been positive! In the last couple of months I took on a new assignment, and then last Friday I received a promotion! I am looking forward to this new position and learning lots along the way.
WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING
Fall premiers! I was so excited for The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family to come back after the summer break. They left us hanging last year! We are also watching (when we have time and aren’t exhausted) The Amazing Race, Cutthroat Kitchen, and Worst Cooks in America Celebrity Edition. We just finished watching The Great Food Truck Race. Lots of cooking shows in there! Thank goodness for our DVR is all I have to say!
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO
Still the Pulse channel on Sirius XM, all day every day! Won’t be long, though, before I switch to the Holly Christmas channel!
WHAT I’M WEARING
Yesterday, which was actually Wednesday, I wore my abstract zebra pants from Loft. They are so comfy and make me feel a little dressed up and fun all at the same time! I can’t find them on the site, though, so maybe they will come back next year.
WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND
I had wanted to go out of town, and maybe escape to the mountains. It looks like we will be staying here, though, so maybe we can go find some pumpkins for the front porch! We will also be enjoying the cold front that is predicted!
WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH
New Halloween and Fall traditions with my munchkin! It was so much fun dressing him up last year, and I know he will really enjoy it this year since he already gets excited about candy! He will be an adorable little train engineer!
WHAT ELSE IS NEW
I think I pretty well covered that and then some….
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE HALLOWEEN TRADITIONS
Since this will only be Ryder’s second Halloween, and the first that he will really be able to enjoy it… we don’t have any traditions to speak of! We might do the Tech Trick or Treat night again, and I definitely want to go back to Assiter Punkin Ranch in Floydada.
Well that’s all for now. Until next time friends. Up next we have Ryder’s 21 month post!
